NEWSLETTER FROM APRIL 2009
Dear Members / Chers Membres,
This letter serves to keep you informed of work ongoing in the Canadian Chapter, we thank you for your interest and support so far.
· Student Travel Awards
Awards of up to $1000 (depending on demand) will be available for students to participate at the annual CRS meeting in Copenhagen this July 18th- 22nd. Applicants must have an abstract accepted for presentation at CRS and be from a Canadian University as well as members of the Canadian Chapter of CRS (CCCRS). The award is intended to defray travel expenses. Preference will be given to student presenters who might otherwise not be in a position to attend. To apply please send a copy of your accepted abstract to cccrs.president@gmail.com with ‘Copenhagen Award’ as the subject heading, and write a few sentences explaining why you or your trainee need this award.

· Satellite Meetings
May we draw your attention to this satellite meeting in China this June 16th-17th.
This meeting maybe of great interest to some of you involved with oral delivery.
· Canadian Chapter Controlled Release Society to participate in CSPS 2010
The Canadian Chapter of CRS is planning to co-host a session at the 2010 CSPS meeting to be held in Vancouver, B.C. CCCRS members will be encouraged to attend and submit abstracts. Accepted abstracts will be published in the CRS proceedings. Additional information will follow in due course.
· Participation
We are keen to have participation at the board level, especially from students and postdocs. If you are interested in helping with CCCRS organization please contact us.
· New Board Member
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Urs Hafeli from UBC. He has kindly agreed to develop the Canadian Chapter’s web page and to assist with all matters financial.
